Doctrine of Estoppels
Petitioner raised a considered and conscious plea that he is a tenant of the Gram Panchayat on payment of 15% per annum as 'Chakota' (rent) -- Petitioner, obtained an injunction, on the basis of this plea of tenancy -- Petitioner is barred by the doctrine of estoppels from raising of plea of ownership.
